  • Ford Car Key History

Ford Crown Victoria is an older model that was released back in 1995. There are seven types of keys for this model, including 5 types of non-transponder keys that were used until 1997 and two types of chip keys that were introduced in 1998 and used until 2012. Three types of keyless remotes are also available for Ford Crown Victoria.

Vehicles produced in 1993 and 1994, for example, are equipped with a remote with 4 buttons, panic, trunk, unlock, and lock. An automotive locksmith can easily program and replace a remote. Older models such as Ford Aspire, which was released in 1994, have just 1 type of key – a non-transponder key, which can be replaced by making a duplicate.

The best place to get a new key is a local locksmith because some dealerships don’t keep codes for keys that go with older models. Ford C-Max is a newer model that was released in 2013 and comes with a remote key fob and two transponder keys.

Built-in remotes were used until 2017 and can be programmed. Newer vehicles feature high security keys that also require programming. Released in 2008, Ford E Series comes with a transponder chip key (H92-PT) which can be replaced by an experienced locksmith. Again, dealerships usually do not keep codes for older vehicles.
